Nigredo - Magnum Opus

The Nigredo, or melanosis, is the first step of rot and decay. It's necessary to "let die" the alchemic elements, turning to the original chaos, where the creation had started.
It's symbolizes by the crow, the winter, the planet Saturn and the metal lead.
It's the descent in the world of the shadows, the internal hell. One comes into contact with one's inner demons, with all the things hidden by an illusory surface.
These pain and sofference become the forces that dissolve the self, limited from all sides illusory and obsolete, no longer functional to the evolutionary process of the individual.

Magnum Opus is a conceptual personal project where I want to rapresent the different phases of the creation of the philosoper's stone, with the influence of Jung, with a strong influence of Giger and Beksinski, two artist that influenced me a lot.
